Being a homeschool mom of 6 blessings, time management is crucial! One of the ways I have managed to put healthy meals on my dinner table each evening for my large family is by utilizing my crock pot several times a week.
I LOVE my crock pot!
We are best friends!
Top 10 Reasons You Should Use Your Crock Pot
1. You can start your meal at your convenience
I usually turn mine on right before lunch.
2. It is economical
It costs less than heating an oven and doesn’t warm your house up.
3. It’s super EASY
Just layer your ingredients (my children often prepare our crock pot meals).
4. It’s a no brainer to operate
Just turn the knob!
5. It’s a healthy alternative to fried foods
6. Meal stays warm
Once fully cooked, turn knob to “Warm.”
7. It makes a lot
You can freeze the leftovers and reheat in crock pot.
8. EASY clean up
Even easier if you use a removable crock pot liner.
9. You can buy a less expensive cut of meat
The meat is tender due to the slow cooking method.
10. It makes your house smell wonderful
I love coming home and smelling our supper!
Here are a few of our favorite easy crock meals that we enjoy after Sunday worship. I just put the ingredients in the crock pot before we leave for church and it’s always ready when we get home.

I too love my crock pot! One of my favorite recipes for it is for beef roast. It’s not the most healthy thing in the world but it is really good. One of my daughters named it “friendship roast,” because I would make it whenever we would have friends over and they would all ask for the recipe. It’s super easy! 3-4 lbs beef roast… 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup… 3 cans water…2 bags of lipton onion beefy soup mix (you can also use regular. Both kinds are great) … and 6 russet potatoes cut 2inches.
1. Mix water, crm mush. sp and lipton onion sp mix together. 2. Place peeled & cut potatoes in slow cooker 3. Put roast on top 4. Pour soup mixture over 5. Cook on high for 6 hrs (or longer if you like… the roast will only get more and more tender) or on low for 8-10 hrs. It’s super yummy and tastes like you worked really hard to cook it! http://happyhomemakingwithkristy.blogspot.com/2010/11/this-slow-cooker-roast-is-hit-everytime.html

Love these tips!! I only got a crockpot about 2 years ago and even know I don’t always think to use it. A crockpot can be used for so many things like fudge or apple cider! I need to get more creative 🙂 Thanks for sharing this!!

I love cooking up whole chickens in my crock pot and then shredding the meat for taco’s.

I just used my crockpot for the first time in months yesterday. I kept thinking to myself, “Why do I not do this more often, it is so easy and takes so much stress off of the meal?” I am really excited now to use my crockpot more often and I can’t wait to try out some of your recipes! Thank you!
