As we wrap up our “A Natural Phenomenon” pregnancy and birthing series, I am excited for the opportunity to review–and give away–Unbound Birth: How to Have a Natural Birth in the Hospital–by Jenny Yarbrough.

When I first started researching natural birth during my second pregnancy, there were some resources I came across that made it sound doubtful that natural birth in a hospital was even possible! Well, 12 days after achieving my second natural hospital birth, I’m here to tell you that, YES, it is completely possible to have a natural birth in a hospital!

Now, I’m not discounting the benefits of birthing at home or in a birth center. These two birth settings are preferable–and even ideal–for some families.

But there are those of us who, like me, can’t or won’t ever birth outside of the hospital. These reasons might include:

  • laws preventing homebirth in your state,
  • no access to a birth center,
  • a spouse who feels most comfortable in a hospital, or
  • medical necessity (I found out late in my last pregnancy that my anemia/low iron levels would have most likely disqualified me for a homebirth).

If you have to rule out birthing in your home or a birth center for one of the above reasons–or another one–BE ENCOURAGED! You CAN have the birth of your dreams…BUT you’ll need to do a little research to get there.

You see, I really wanted a natural birth my first time around…but it didn’t happen. Why not? Really, I think it’s because I didn’t prepare. I didn’t read any good natural birthing books.

I really wish I had had access to an eBook like Unbound Birth back in 2008!

If you want a simple guide to natural hospital birth, this eBook is for you!

In this eBook, Jenny will clearly and concisely walk you through what it takes to achieve the natural birth you desire in the hospital. I read the book in one sitting–and then re-read it–trying to give myself a refresher before my third labor began.

In Unbound Birth, you will learn:

  • that natural birth is not scary,
  • natural birth can be for everyone,
  • natural birth is empowering,
  • how doulas can help you achieve the birth you desire,
  • natural relief for labor pains,
  • why baby’s position matters,
  • what to include on a birth plan,
  • a healthy pregnancy diet,
  • and more!

Unbound Birth is normally $4.99–but for the month of September, Jenny has lowered the price to just $2.99!!!

You can purchase the book here.

There are lots of natural birthing books on the market today, but if your time is limited and your finances are tight, downloading this quick read for $2.99 will serve you well!

Sounds like a great book! Yes, natural births in hospitals are totally doable! Even after c-sections (if your hospital and doctor allow them). My first was a c-section and my second two were natural births at the same hospital (called VBACs = vaginal birth after caesarean). I think I would enjoy delivering in a birthing inn, but in this state I am not allowed to have a midwife since I have previously had a c-section and thus am considered higher risk (even if I have 10 successful natural births, that first c-section will always keep me in the higher risk category – so dumb!!).

Hi there! Do you know if they make any plugins to safeguard against hackers?
I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on.
    Any suggestions?
