Here are more than 100 gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate dessert recipes all in one place! You’ll find gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate cakes, cookies, pastries, bars, frozen desserts and more!
It’s been said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
My husband’s love language is gifts, so, with him at least, this old adage rings true. And it’s often the homemade desserts that he appreciates the most.
But with the advent of our whole foods lifestyle about five years ago, there are many old desserts I had to give up making. Then, almost three years ago, we discovered that our oldest child needs to be gluten and dairy-free (and egg-free, too, actually). And, between then and now, we’ve discovered that all of us have at least a small gluten and dairy sensitivity.
Going gluten and dairy free can be overwhelming at first. Desserts? It just seems easier to go without them!
The good news is that there are many, many naturally-sweetened desserts that are both gluten and dairy-free that taste just as good as those made with white sugar, wheat, and dairy.
Check out the following list of healthier, homemade chocolate desserts—all sweetened with either honey, maple syrup, or stevia and all either gluten and dairy-free or very easily adapted to be so. Enjoy!
A note on ingredients: While many grocery stores now carry the ingredients needed to make these desserts, you can always shop online if there’s something you can’t find! Amazon carries a variety of gluten-free flours, virgin coconut oil, and natural sweeteners. You can also find these items on Vitacost.com. (Use my referral link to get $5 off your first order of $30 or more.) There are also a lot of options now for dairy-free milk. But not all of them are good! Here’s how my family chooses a dairy-free milk.

Why is your oldest gluten free? My middle child has an autistic spectrum disorder. He is doing well and we have not tried diet modifications yet. He truly eats so little we are afraid to cut anything out. He ate no dinner at all. He had an apple for lunch and a very crackers and a couple of bowls of cereal for breakfast. Some days he eats even less. I am a bit curious about gluten free though.
Richelle
We also have a child with high functioning autism. We have cut dyes and chemicals out of his foods. We also use doterra essential oils in place of medications. He is a different kid! His tastes are still limited to just a few foods but we’ve learned to be creative using cauliflower tortillas for pizza crust and almond flour tortillas for tacos. Well, quesadillas because he won’t eat ground burger. Textural thing. 🙂 good luck in finding what works. Need to chat just email me. Us mamas need to stick together. 🙂
Erin
Thanks for helping out others in the community, Richelle! We mamas must stick together!

Hi Cindy, my children’s gluten sensitivities present themselves in digestive issues and behavior–mainly. There was a time I thought my oldest might be bi-polar. It almost seems to change her personality! Our girls are not on the spectrum, but I have friends with kids who are, and they have seen HUGE differences once going gluten-free. I pray you find some answers. I would definitely give gluten-free eating a shot. Blessings to you!
