Shop back-to-school consignment without leaving home! Schoola is my new favorite company for scoring name-brand children’s clothing at a HUGE discount! What’s a frugally-minded mama who dislikes shopping to do when it comes to stocking her kids’ closets with back-to-school clothes?
Shop online consignment, of course!
Enter: Schoola.
Schoola is an online resale site that focuses on quality baby and kid clothes. (Moxie Jean merged with Schoola in 2015.) A few weeks ago Schoola asked me to give them a try and write about my experience.
I absolutely loved it.
Why?
1. I could shop from the comfort of my own home.
I didn’t have to leave my chaise lounge. That’s right. One reason I’ve never liked shopping is that I simply don’t like going to the store! It eats up gas and time, and it’s even more of a hassle with my girls in tow.
Shopping via Schoola was a breeze because I could do it from the comfort of my own living room.
2. I didn’t spend a fortune.
Kids clothes can get pricey! I rarely buy things new, and clothing is no exception. Schoola items are gently used (and sometimes new!), and they are up to 70% off retail price!
3. I love that shopping consignment helps reduce waste.
Schoola is all about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I’m giving the clothes I buy a second life–so that they don’t end up in landfills!
4. I can support charities by donating my gently-used kids’ clothing to Schoola.
You can print a pre-paid label and mail Schoola your gently-used clothes. They will donate 40% of the sales proceeds from each item sold to your school! (Alternatively, you can donate to one of their partner causes.) I am definitely mailing in clothes we no longer need so we can donate to my daughter’s university-model school!
5. I could involve my girls in the shopping–without risking melt-downs.
At 3 and 6, my older two girls still tire easily when we go to the store. This can (and sometimes does!) result in melt-downs.
For my Schoola shopping, I simply chose a few items I thought they would like and then let them sit with me at the computer and make the final selection themselves!
They loved it and eagerly awaited their Schoola package to arrive in the mail! As soon as it came, they wanted to try on their new dresses and put on a fashion show!
My 6-year-old was so excited that she even wanted to wear her dress outside while she rode her scooter in the rain! I love this video of her because it embodies her personality to a T: She’s a girly tomboy all the way!
Schoola is the perfect site for moms who want to buy and donate high-quality, gently-used kids’ clothes. Schoola moms can buy name brand clothes for their kids at a fraction of the cost. The quality of the clothes is very high – each piece is hand inspected.
Schoola offers unique, stylist-created looks from favorite brands like Gymboree, Gap, Tea Collection, Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, Baby Lulu and Ralph Lauren, plus designer brands like Oilily, Mayoral, DKNY, Burberry, and Juicy Couture, all at 75% or more off retail prices. You can see more of the children’s clothes we found on Schoola HERE.
