If you’re looking for unique Father’s Day gift ideas for your husband or dad, you won’t want to miss Will’s latest gift guide! Yes–this guide is written by a man, my husband!
By Will Odom, Contributing Writer (and Erin’s husband)
With Father’s Day just around the corner, many are left wondering, “What on earth can I get my dad for Father’s Day? He already has everything.”
The frustration is real, but hopefully we can make things a little easier for you.
Use these ideas as a springboard to launch you on your search for the perfect Father’s Day gift. (OK, perhaps that was a little overkill, but you get the idea.) Also check out our Tie-less Father’s Day Gifts and 15 Subscription Boxes Your Man Will Love!
If you or your kids are into crafts, then a handmade gift will always be loved. The thought, energy, and time put into making something as simple as a handprint flower are cherished.
The more personal you can make a gift the more enjoyable it will be. This can even include items that you buy instead of make.
As a gift-giver, I truly enjoy finding the perfect gift for someone. I put a great deal of thought into their personality and interests in order to choose something that fits.
While gift cards are always an easy option, think about his likes or interests and begin there.
- Does he have a hobby like gardening?
- Does he collect a specific item like Coke memorabilia?
- Does he enjoy some sport hunting or other activity?
- What about tickets to his favorite movie or event?
Anything related to any of his interests will be a hit.
In an effort to give a few ideas and hopefully get your thought processes moving, here are 10 Father’s Day gifts that I thought were a little unique and outside the norm.
10 Unique Gifts for Dads
1. Novelty T-shirt or Cap
This may not seem very unique at first glance, but the number of t-shirt (on Amazon) and cap options ensure that you are able to find something that perfectly fits your man’s personality or interests. I absolutely love the dad superhero and humorous shirts.
2. Personalized or Engraved Tool
I don’t think you can ever go wrong with tools, but adding a personalized message or engraving (on Amazon) gives a special twist on a common gift. I’m not sure I could bring myself to use this tool, but I would sure proudly display it on my workbench in a place of prominence.
3. Food Gift Baskets or Subscription Service
They say the way to man’s heart is through his stomach, so a unique gift basket full of manly snacks or food items would surely win over his heart. These range from spices to beer to coffee to many other food items. There are actually a ton of monthly subscription services that offer a plethora of options. Dollar Shave Club also has a great Father’s Day package as well.
4. Docking Station or Organizer
I never know what to do with my wallet and keys when I come in, so they usually end up thrown on the dresser or counter. There are several different types of docking stations (on Amazon) or organizers (on Amazon). Find one that would hold the contents of your guy’s pockets.
5. Dad Journal
At first glance, this may seem like a bad idea, especially for those dads who don’t like to write. However, I think it’s important for children to know about where they came from, and this is a chance for their dad to share some funny and encouraging stories. I wish I had these memories from my dad and grandparents. You can get him a blank leather one or a share your life with me version
6. Hammock Chair or Zero Gravity Chair
Give him the gift of relaxation. Every man needs a chance to chill out after a hard day’s work, so let him sit back and enjoy a good nap in a Hammock Chair or Zero Gravity Chair. Hopefully, you got to do the same on Mother’s Day.
7. Grid-It Organizer
I hate when I can’t find my earbuds, or they are all tangled up. This leather organizer or accessory organizer could be used for a variety of purposes from the tech-savvy dad to tools to travel items. I could definitely use one of these in my messenger bag for everyday use or to throw in a carry-on when traveling.
8. Quadcopter or Boat or Car or X-wing
Boys and their toys! A lot of guys will say that as they get older their toys just get more expensive, and while that may be case, it doesn’t have to be. You can find a good radio-controlled copter or boat or car for a decent price and let the fun begin. And what Star Wars fan wouldn’t love an X-wing drone! It’s also a good stress reliever!
9. Books
Some guys like to just sit back and read a book or listen to a book or watch a good movie. The options are endless for something that will peak their interest with media – fictional stories, biographies of important people, advice on being a good dad, etc. There is no shortage of good books. To name a few:
Even a gift subscription to Kindle Unlimited or Audible would be great ideas! Or a subscription to Hulu or ESPN+ would be awesome.
10. Digital Picture Frame
Preload a digital picture frame with picture of the kids, and it will be perfect for the home or office. A dad can never have too many pictures of his kids.
Sports Bonus:
If you husband is a sports can, and you need some unique sports ideas, you need to check out FOCO (Forever Collectibles). You can pretty much find anything…and I do mean anything. They have every type of clothing, bags, accessories, shoes, and memorabilia imaginable.
These Brxlz characters are sure to please any sports fan big or small. They include mascots, stadiums, helmets, players and more. Sure to bring enjoyment putting it together and pride in displaying it.

Good ideas! This year for Father’s Day I am giving my husband a set of outdoor chairs for his fire pit area.
Erin
That’s an awesome gift!
Shelley
I hadn’t decided yet, but I really love the Dad Journal idea! Thanks for sharing!
Erin
I loved that one too!
Tirado Elizabeth
Mama Natural and Wellness Mama both have an awesome “natural gift giving” list for men that’s always a go-to for me since we are naturally focused:)
Erin
Awesome! I will have to check it out! Both of them are friends of ours but I haven’t seen their list. 🙂

This is a great list– filled with practical and affordable items. My husband would love the docking station. He too has a hard time collecting his phone, keys, wallet, and watch from various places in the house. This would allow for them to all sleep in one place.
The subscription box is also a great idea. I am going to fill a box with his favorite snacks. Costco and Food 4 Less are our best cost effective natural/organic options. I get more bang for my buck and he gets more of the snacks he loves– it is a win win.
One item that my husband would love is the day off from his honey-do list and any extra expectations. It’s the one day he is not asked to make any decisions, fix anything, or do anything he does not truly enjoy– shopping at Costco or in general.
Thank you, again, for a list that does not involve impractical, nonsensical, expensive gifts. Have a happy Father’s day.
Will
I love the day off idea!!
