If you’re looking for Father’s Day gift ideas, Will (my hubby!) is back with some that are sure to make the dads in your life feel loved this Father’s Day!
By Will Odom, Contributing Writer (and Erin’s husband!)
With Mother’s Day wrapped up (and I hope you all had the wonderful day that you deserve), Father’s Day is just around the corner. I personally have always found it fairly easy to buy for my wife.
My wife, however, tells me that I’m fairly difficult to buy for. As such, I thought I’d throw out a few ideas (outside of the traditional Father’s Day tie…though these Tie Mags magnetic tie clips (on Amazon) are pretty cool).
Many guys are happy with something simple or a gift made by their children or some quality time with their wife or even some time to chill out, so know your guy and choose accordingly.
Of course, gift cards are always a good idea, but if you want to make it more personal, considering the personality of the guy is the first place start.
Think about his likes or interests and begin there. Does he have a hobby? Does he collect a specific item? Maybe he enjoys some sport, hunting, or other activity? What about tickets to his favorite event?
I am not a fan of knick knacks, so I like gifts to be useful and thought out.
Anything related to any of his interests will be a hit.
You will also find more ideas from our men’s Stocking Stuffer Ideas or Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas or 10 Unique Gift Ideas. Some of these ideas are just for fun, but hopefully you’ll find something that works for your guy.
The Ultimate Gift Guide for Dads:
1) Clock
Brighten his morning or add some flair to his desk with a new clock: Batman or Superman or Yoda. I personally have the Yoda one sitting on my desk at school.
2) Sports
If your man is a sports fan, you can pretty much find anything he needs with FOCO (Forever Collectibles)…and I do mean anything. They have every type of clothing, bags, accessories, shoes, and memorabilia imaginable, everything from shirts to flip flops to ornaments to swim trucks and so, so much more.
These Brxlz characters are sure to please any sports fan big or small. They include mascots, stadiums, helmets, players and more. Sure to bring enjoyment putting it together and pride in displaying it.
3) Multitools
I like having multitools in various locations. This emergency tool goes great in a glove box. This extreme bright LED flashlight is great for hunting, fishing, etc. or just in a night stand. Or this survival credit card multi tool…just don’t carry it through airport security.
4) Tech
I’m a techie, so technology always makes a great gift. These waterproof bluetooth speakers from SpeakStick or Mooi Tech are great for music or podcasts. This solar-powered portable charger from ZeroLemon has also caught my eye.
5) Kitchen
I’m not a fan of sushi, but I might be if I had these lightsaber chopsticks or be tempted to make it with this Darth Vader Apron and use these ice cube trays for my sweet tea in my Star Wars Tervis. Yes, obviously I’m a Star Wars fan, but if your guy likes another character or sports team, then find something that he likes. An insulted stainless steel tumbler that keeps ice cold for 24 hours sounds pretty cool.
6) Bags
Does your husband go to the gym or need to take a change of clothes somewhere? I know I could use a new gym bag. Would a messenger bag help with work-related materials? How about a shaving kit for traveling?
7) Writing
A handmade writing utensil is always an excellent choice. I own two pens from this Etsy seller, and I can’t say enough about their craftsmanship. This multi function tool pen could work for many purposes other than just writing. And then this magnetic pen just looks cool and is sure to keep minds focused on task…for people that fidget like I do.
8) Clothing
If I’m not at a formal event, I am typically a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. If your guy dresses casually, too, you could get something as simple a pocket t-shirt, a best dad ever, super dad t-shirt, character/sports team t-shirt, something with a little humor behind it, or any other graphic shirt to fit his interests. A simple polo is a good choice as well. Even a subscription to Stitch Fix to add a few things to his wardrobe would be great.
9) Footwear
I’m also a flip flop kind of guy in the summer. So some new shoes or boots might also be a good ideas for your guy.
10) Camping
Anybody enjoy camping or just relaxing? How about a ENO Hammock? Or an LED headlamp or collapsible lantern? This Whetstone Cutlery Multi-tool could be very useful. Need to start a fire? Keep this camping knife with fire starter handy. This survival paracord bracelet is fashionable and useful.
11) Games
I am not a big board game guy, but my wife does like games. How about something y’all could play together that he might enjoy? This baseball game looks cool, and baseball is America’s favorite pastime! I like this mini soccer foosball game. And who knew they make an NFL Board Game. Anyone up for some desktop bowling? Of course, an app gift card would allow him to purchase somethings for his phone or computer as well.
12) Video games
And of course, if your husband is a gamer, then there are a plethora of items to add to his arenas. Everything from an Xbox Live subscription to a new game to something he can play with the whole family like Mario Kart 8.
13) Tools
I personally think that tools are always a good option for any occasion. I remember my dad using a suede leather tool belt similar to this carpenter’s belt. This magnetic wristband has also caught my eye. I have one and use it all the time. As did this flexible light or tool kit.
I also recently found this damaged screw drill bit set and this universal socket tool that I’ve add to my own list.
14) Organization
I like to keep my work area organized, and this hardware cabinet has definitely helped. I also received this toolbox one year, and I love it. You could set it up and add a few new tools in the drawers for an added surprise.
15) Self-Care
After working in the yard or in his shop with his new tools, he’ll need to clean up, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Free Reign Farm’s lumberjack soap and shave soap (Use THH10 for 10% off), or Hobo Beard Oil.
My Natural Skincare for Men post may give you some ideas as well. And check out Dollar Shave Club!
16) Grill
Does he grill? I could use some new grilling tools from the BBQ Guys (or on Amazon) or a basket for the grilled veggies with some Redmond Seasoning Salt (use code “humbledhomemaker” for 15% off). I also have a tendency to overcook the meat, so a thermometer would help with that problem. The Grill Masters club or BBQ Box will send him the best grilling and BBQing products right to his grill.
17) Garden
I really enjoy digging in the dirt and getting the garden. Whether vegetable or flower or both, some gardening tools would be a great addition to your man’s tool set. The claw garden gloves have also been a big hit because they allow you to dig in the dirt without needed a trowel.
18) Movie/TV
Grab any guy movie set (like the Terminator Blu-Ray Anthology) or any TV series that you guy enjoys (like Arrow). Can’t go wrong with adding to his film collection. Or A subscription to Hulu or ESPN+ would be awesome.
19) Pictures
Does he have pictures of his family in his office or workshop? How about a new frame complete with a new pic of the kids: Daddy’s girl, Daddy’s Boys, Bronze script dad frame, Daddy & Me, Dad: You are the World, or I love Dad.
20) Books
A gift subscription to Kindle Unlimited or Audible would be great ideas! Or how about a few books to read with the kids? Here are some fun picks:
- Just Me and My Dad
- Berenstain Bears – We Love Our Dad
- My Dad Loves Me!
- Darth Vader and Son
- Darth Vader and Princess
- I Love You, Daddy
Here are some other books that could serve a father as well and help him be a better dad:
- The Power of a Praying Parent
- Praying the Scriptures for Your Children
- The 5 Love Languages of Children
- The New Strong-Willed Child
- Bringing Up Boys
- Bringing Up Girls
- Raising a Modern Day Knight
- Raising a Modern Day Princess
- The Way of the Wild Heart
- How God Makes Men
Obviously there are bigger, pricier items such as a new recliner or Apple Watch or Roku if you want to splurge, but I’ve tried to choose items that are cost effective as well as outside the traditional gifts. For additional ideas, be sure to check out this list of 10 Unique Father’s Day Presents.

Awesome list!! Thank you!!

I’m really sad that House of Cards was actually recommended. One look at the IMDB Parent Guide is revolting.
Erin
Eleanor,
Different people watch different things. We don’t personally watch it, don’t really know much about it, and aren’t interested in it, but do know some people who do. -Will

Thanks for the gift list suggestions, it’s quite varied in choices as well as price points. Great to have honest input from the species 😉 and not, “Aww, just get me anything.”
Happy Father’s day!
