These are some of my favorite resources for celebrating Christmas and Advent with little ones!
The Christmas season is now in full swing and in a couple days Advent will officially begin!
There are SO many options of how you can celebrate this season with your little ones. Today, I’m sharing a few possible ways you can make Advent meaningful for your children this year.
My biggest advice? Don’t do them all. Just choose one!
Truth in the Tinsel
I discovered Truth in the Tinsel last Christmas, shortly after it was released. This is the perfect Advent activity book for little hands! Each day includes a Scripture to read and a craft to make in celebration of Christ’s coming to earth as a baby!
My oldest daughter and I did this together last year, and she (now 4) and my 2 year old will both be participating this year! Read more about Truth in the Tinsel here. Get 20% off by using code HUMBLED!
What’s in the Bible? Christmas DVDs
These DVDs are a great way to teach your children about the true meaning of Christmas! My girls think watching a movie on TV is always a treat (and they, ahem, do it far too often). Making it a movie with a spiritual lesson that will have a lasting impact is a huge plus.
The creator of this series spoke at Allume Social, a Christian blogging conference I attended in October. His heart is truly for teaching children the Good News! My girls love Why Do We Call It Christmas?!
And for after Christmas….A Natural Noel
A Natural Noel will help your family savor the 12 days after Christmas. I never knew that the “12 Days of Christmas” song was about the days after Christmas until last year when I found this book!
The author, Michele of Frugal Granola, will give you an activity to do with your children each day–many involving nature. This book would be great for older preschoolers on up! Read more about it here.

Great resources Erin! Thanks for sharing 🙂

My boys have thoroughly enjoyed the Arnold Ytreeide books (www.jothamsjourney.com)

I found changing my perspective had the biggest effect on my family. Even my agnostic husband is coming around. My church at the time did Advent Conspiracy. My whole life people kept saying,” Jesus is the reason for the Season” but they the didn’t act like it. http://www.amazon.com/Advent-Conspiracy-Christmas-Still-Change/dp/0310324521

Thanks for sharing, Erin! I’ve never done the Advent with the kids, and I love that “Truth in the Tinsel” is in Spanish as well!! I’ll definitely get that for the kids! Loving your blog, it’s so resourceful!
