Homemade Gluten-Free Sausage Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free baking mix
  • 1/2 lb. cheddar cheese grated*
  • 1 lb. sausage I prefer turkey sausage!
  • 1/4-1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • 1. Mix baking mix, grated cheese and raw sausage together with hands.
  • 2. Add 1/4 cup water to help dough and meat/cheese combo stick together. Add more water if the dough is not sticking.
  • 3. Form dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a baking sheet.
  • 4. Bake on 300 degrees F for 30 minutes or until balls are cooked through.

Notes

*My family was dairy-free for about 3 1/2 years, but we have just started adding back dairy in limited amounts. We seem to do best with raw milk cheese, which I used in this recipe.
