I am excited to welcome my husband, Will, as a guest writer today! It was his idea to write this post on stocking stuffer ideas for men, and I’m glad because I never know what to get him (or my dad or my brother or my father-in-law, etc.) for Christmas! I hope this post will help give you ideas on what to get your man. It sure helped me! ~Erin 🙂

When you are done here, check out the follow up to this post: Even More Stocking Stuffers for Men.
You just don’t know what to get him, so you throw your hands up and grab some underwear and socks.
Sometimes we, the men in your life, can be difficult to buy for, especially when it comes to filling the infamous Christmas stocking. However, it doesn’t really have to be all that difficult.
Think specifically about the men in your life. Does he play golf or like other sports? Does he enjoy hunting or fishing? Is he a techie? Include things from his interests.
There are always the normal gifts of gift cards, movie tickets, candy, gum, batteries, ammo, homemade coupons, or magazines. And those are ALL great gifts. Even the occasional pair of underwear (or a monthly delivery for new undies) or socks can do a man good, especially since we very rarely buy those things for ourselves. But I’ve put together a few suggestions that would fit nicely in a stocking…
Check out these 32 Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Men
1. The Scribe
Whether in the office or at home a handmade wooden pen can make those mundane tasks more enjoyable or at least make you look classy while doing them.
2. Notetaker
In this age of iPhones and technology, some guys still like to jot things down with a pen and paper. These mini journals are a great size. Or how about some Aqua Notes for those ideas or thoughts that hit you in the shower. These things are the best and are a top pick in our home. I also like these Field Notes for jotting ideas while out and about.
3. Mr. Moneybags
A man can be very hard on this wallet, and it eventually starts to fall apart and will need to be replaced. I keep my wallet in my front pocket, so I prefer a slimmer design like this one. A lot of guys are also using iphone case pockets instead of a wallet.
4. Mr. Casual
Any man likes to chill in his favorite graphic t-shirt, whether it be sports, movies, or childhood memories (Nintendo).
5. Plug His Ears
If your guy regularly listens to music or podcasts, then a set of headphones or earbuds are always a good choice. I have both the Bose headphones and the Tozo earbuds and uses both of them all the time.
6. Dirty Man
If you want the men in your life to smell like something other than sweat, then a good manly scented soap from Free Reign Farm will do the job.
(From Erin: Free Reign Farm is offering 10% off your purchase with code THH10. Read my review of their hand-crafted soaps here.)
Everyman Jack is also brand that I have used that is made from naturally-derived, clean ingredients. Dr. Squatch also has this awesome Star Wars soap set.
7. Mountain Man
Any men in your family have facial hair? If so, beard oil will keep it healthy and tame. Up the ante a little with this personalized beard kit or this one on Amazon.
8. Hat Man
A good cap from his favorite sports team, movie, or other interest tops things off nicely. Or what about a newsboy cap or fedora?
9. Blade Runner
A guy can never have too many knives; so a Leatherman tool or this hatchet/knife set from Rite Edge are great additions to any man’s arsenal. These credit card multitools or a tactical pen are pretty cool as well and fit perfectly in a stocking.
10. Sgt. Commando
OK…Let’s be honest…whitey tighties should be banned! If your guy is going to wear briefs, at least get some colored ones. And since he probably doesn’t want to go commando, he might enjoy some trendy, premium undergarments that are made for comfort and style.
To keep things fresh all year around, Me Undies (get 20% off first order with this link) is a subscription box that will send your man new undies each month based on his preferences.
11. Old School
Many men have started using shaving brushes or shaving soaps like the one from Free Reign Farms as opposed to the traditional creams.
12. Manscaper
A few guys have even gone back to using safety razors and claim they get a closer shave. Then there is always the electric back shaver or baKblade for those hard to reach areas or the BodBarber for those more sensitive areas. 😉 Changing skin care products is one of the last things men change when moving toward a more natural lifestyle free of harsh chemicals, but it’s really important.
13. Flick Fan
Some guys are movie buffs, so his favorite guy movie or collection will make a great addition to his DVD library.
14. Book Worm
Some light, fun reading can always be good to de-stress or take his mind off everyday life. Or something with a little more substance like How God Makes Men is always a good read and is one of my new favorites. Even something to read with his son or daughter will be a hit. A few of more favorites:
- Wingfeather Saga (<–read this with my kids)
- Ready Player One (<– one of my favorite sci-fi/fantasy, especially if you grew up in the 80s.)
15. Chauffeur
While most guys don’t like carrying a huge keychain in their pockets, a small one can be fun and have some added bonuses. I like this carabiner, this knife (just be careful in the airport), and the Tardis for Dr. Who fans. If he frequently loses or misplaces a Tile might be a good idea.
16. Computer Geek
From wall decals to car decals to computer decals, a good sticker can spice up any area of his life. I get comments about my Superman one all the time.
17. Class Clown
And if you want to have a little fun with him, some Lump of Coal Bubble Gum or Chocolate or some temporary tattoos could be just the thing for a good laugh. These make a great gag gifts.
18. Caffeine Consumer
If any man in your life is a coffee drinker, the Volcanica Coffee Company has something for him or companies like Bean Box and Trade Coffee also provide a good variety as well as subscription boxes. You can also find a coffee sampler that includes a little bit of everything.
19. Guiding Light
Like knives, a man can never have too many flashlights for any occasion — something small to keep in the nightstand or a little more flexible for those hard to see spots. This extendable magnetic pick up tool with a flashlight is cool! I have one and love it.
20. Grill Master
The grill is often the man’s cooking domain, so let him spice up his culinary skills with some grilling spices or grilling tools or amazing salts. A subscription to the Grill Masters club or BBQ Box will send him the best grilling and BBQing products right to his grill.
21. Gamer Man
If he’s a gamer, how about a subscription to Xbox live or another item for his preferred system.
22. Accident Prone
As a man with more women than men in my house, I often have a hard time finding bandages that aren’t pink or covered in princesses. These space bandages or these bacon bandages would solve that problem. And what man doesn’t love bacon?
23. Thristy Man
A Yeti, Rtic tumbler, or a Tervis tumbler are great for cold or hot beverages.
24. Classy Man
Bowties (or handmade ones) have made a huge comeback in men’s fashion. Some can pull them off; others won’t touch them. Which is your man?
25. Man Cave
Anything for the man cave– a sign, sports memorabilia, etc. – is always a welcome addition.
26. Inspector Gadget
For the techie in your life, perhaps something practical would be useful. How about a portable charger to keep his devices charged on the the go. Or a Boogie Board to jot down lists or notes. If he’s a gamer, how about a subscription to Xbox live or another item for his preferred system.
I just got this personalized wooden phone case for my phone, and I love it. I sent the image to the shop, and they created exactly what I wanted.
27. Wanderer
Does anyone like to travel? This travel map is a great way to mark the countries that have been visited. Or use this leather passport cover for important documents. How about this travel case if he has a celebratory cigar on occasion? I recently bought an ebag for traveling, and I love it. I also want to get one of these wooden 3D maps for our living room wall.
28. Handyman
There are many useful tools, like this magnetic wristband or a stud finder, that fit nicely into a stocking.
Or even some camping tools like this waterproof match kit or even a Zippo or butane lighter to start a fire.
Then, there are tools for hunting like a duck call or a deer grunt or a mask for his face.
Then there are the tools to open your bottles, like this Millennium Falcon Bottle Opener.
29. Music Man
Any musicians in your life? Some fun guitar picks or drumstick pens would be awesome.
30. Cool Dude
Is your man always breaking his sunglasses? He may need some new ones or just an extra pair to keep around. Or this clip to help him keep up with his sunglasses.
31. Man Child
What guy doesn’t like a good old fashioned toy from time to time like a wooden airplane or a yo-yo or a slinky or a rubber band gun or a Rubik’s cube?
32. Memory Maker
Our Christmas tree includes ornaments from memorable moments in our marriage, our interests, our travels, etc. Give him an ornament for the tree that marks an important event or showcases his sports team or shows his interests.

This is a great list! I got a lot of new ideas (bacon band aids?!!)…
Another practical idea is batteries. They are needed for so many things but you don’t realize you’re out until you really need them.
Also, magazines, especially those related to a favorite hobby.
Erin
Batteries and magazines are good idea. I added those to the intro paragraph. Hope the list helped a little. (From Will)
Barry Myers
Thanks for the mention of my store!
Erin

Will Odom
Hope you found something useful!
Erica
Thank you for the ideas! My husband recently started growing a beard, so I decided to try the hobo oil, wash and balm. I think he will appreciate it a lot. I am not usually supportive of his beard. He will love that I found a way to support it!
Lexie
You’ll be surprised at how much better you like it after he tames and conditions it some! 🙂
Erin
The bread cream from Lexie and the Hobo Oil are great. I just them on my beard and goatee all the time. I even use Lex: Beard on my skin as well. (From Will)
Kelly @ The Nourishing Home
Will, this post ROCKS! Thanks for all of the terrific manly ideas! My husband is totally there with you on the beard care supplies. And, might I add – tattoo moisturizer. Seriously!!
Give your sweet wife a big hug for me! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
Blessings, Kelly
Will Odom
Thanks Kelly! I have actually used Lexie’s Beard cream on my tats. Hope get together with both y’all some day.
Lexie
Thanks so much for the love, Will! All the items on this list are awesome. So far Stephen has hair bands in his stocking bag… haha. I’ll have to check out some of this other stuff! Think he would care if I put his Lex:Beard in there too? 🙂
Erin
They had some cool guitar picks, but I’m sure he may have enough of those. I did see some really cool ones on etsy (wooden ones and engraved ones).
Raymond @ Man On The Lam
That paracord caribiner is pretty nifty. Great list!
Erin
Thanks Raymond. I liked that one and added a knife one as well.

I googled “stocking stuffer for men” and found this glorious list. Thank you for giving me ideas because I was honestly going to go with just socks! I love the bacon bandages too! This was very helpful. I hope you will write a similar list for father’s day too.
Erin
Glad your search brought you here. I’ll work on a Father’s Day list. (From Will)
Michelle
Great list, awesome ideas. but I can’t imagine spending that much on stocking stuffers! We normally put about 10-15 things in our socks… At this rate it would cost $200 for each stocking!! With 5 socks to fill.. No way… I think ill stick to scratch off lottery tickets, travel toothpaste and socks!!!
Erin
Oh–LOL, Michelle! This isn’t a suggestion to fill one stocking with ALL of these things! LOL!!! This is just a list of suggestions where people can pick a handful of these things to put in a stocking. 🙂 That would get extremely pricey if someone tried to fill a stocking with every item on this list.
Kimberly King
Hi Will. Kimberly from Redmond here. Just wanted to say thanks for this list, as I just decided very last-minute, that I want to do the 12 days of Christmas for my sweet husband and I’m really needed some hints and help! This is a great list!

Elizabeth
Great ideas, maybe my hubby will get something besides peanut m&m’s and car fresheners in his stocking this year! I never can figure out what to do for him. 🙂
Wendy Cartright
I really liked the number 9 gift idea. My husband uses our very expensive kitchen knives for household projects! I will definitely be getting him a utility knife for Christmas. I have a lot of fun stuffing his stocking every year with random, cute, quirky things. This year I’m also going to surprise him with an authentic Sea Hawks jersey. Thanks for all the great ideas!
Julie
I love the temporary tattoo idea! That would be fun!
Erin

Ammo…? Really? For Christmas? Hahahaha!!!! If it moves, you better shoot it.
Susan
What a great list…. And yet, there is nothing on there my hubby would like in his stocking! Christmas must be so boring for him…. 🙁
Erin
oh man! That’s a bummer!
Sheri
My dh is the same. All great ideas for most husbands, mines a bit more difficult. No sports, no hunting, would be angry if I bought anything frivolous unfortunately. Makes it super difficult. Socks and underwear and oranges is all he will let me get him.
Erin
oh man!
Annetta
Sheri does he camp? flashlight tent stakes, fire starter. Does he drive a car? Lock deicer, key chain, air freshner. Does he work around the house, repair things? Glue gun, screw drivers, tape measure, Duct tape.
Erin
Great ideas!

Thank you! This is a great list! Its actually sensible items that most men would really want and use, not just silly gadgets that useless. Thanks!
Shirley
I must be married to a caveman, because none of these ideas would be appropriate for my husband … Should I be worried?!
Deanna
You have no idea how much this has helped me. My husband is so hard to buy for! He always says he doesn’t want anything but I want to be able to get him something. This has given me so many ideas! Thank you!!!
Hannah Avery
I’m thinking beef jerky and Reese’s Christmas trees, and maybe some small prepper items like water purification tablets. Great ideas! My husband likes magazines and ammo too!
Linda
Thanks for the jerky idea. My husband likes gourmet teas and spices, too, and your suggestion reminded me of that.
Nicole
With 3 young boys and my husband this list will come in handy now and in the future. We purchase NHL, NFL and MLB ornaments every year. One tree is dedicated to sports.
Thank you and Merry Christmas

Only in America would “ammo” be classified as a “normal stocking stuffer”……
