If you’re looking for a quick and easy appetizer to take to your next friend or family gathering, then I have the perfect recipe for you: this beautiful Smoked Sausage Appetizer Platter! The best part about it was that I was able to incorporate ingredients that I already had in my kitchen, so it was very easy to make. It let me spend less time in the kitchen, and more time spending time with my friends and family, which I think everyone can agree is a great thing!

My husband Will and I ate a dish similar to this at party more than a decade ago, and it’s been one of our favorite easy but yummy appetizers to take to get-togethers ever since!

Ingredients
- 2 packages smoked sausage o kielbasa
- 2 blocks cheese of choice cut into cubes
- 1 jar dill pickles
- seasonings of choice
Instructions
- To make this, you simply cut and brown the sausage (any smoked sausage or kielbasa will do), cut the cheese into cubes, slice the pickles into small pieces, and arrange all on a tray!
- Then sprinkle with seasonings of your choice and serve with toothpicks.
We typically use pickles with no artificial dyes and sprinkle everything with Real Salt® Organic Season Salt. Everyone always asks what kind of seasoning we used. It’s one of our favorites, and I’m sure any of their other seasonings like their smoked salt, garlic pepper, lemon pepper, or Red Rock BBQ (really just any of them) would be amazing too.
It’s so easy but looks fancy! The smoked sausage makes this a hearty but quick appetizer because it’s so fast to prepare.
You can either buy cubed cheese, or if you want to make it more financially friendly, you can buy blocked cheese and cut it into cubes, which is what we usually do.

We have taken this sausage nibbles platter to community group, family functions, parties, and more, and it is always a total hit!
And here’s a little time-saving secret: we have actually served the platter to our kids for dinner one night. The sausage provides plenty of protein, and this appetizer can double as a quick “snack plate dinner” for those nights when I don’t feel like slaving over a hot oven (which is often!).

All you need is some sausage, cheese and pickles to make a delicious meal – no wonder it’s one of my go to ingredients!
