This might just be the easiest way to raise money for your kids’ school! You can do it without spending anything extra!
The new school year recently started, and while my kids have been excited about buying fresh school supplies and seeing their friends, they’re also getting geared up to help raise money for their school–without having to spend a dime.
My girls have been enthusiastically collecting Box Tops from various products ever since they entered kindergarten. Their school–and all participating schools–earn $.10 per Box Top–and that money really adds up over time! In fact, our school has been able to purchase nearly $1,000 worth of classroom supplies via the Box Tops program each school year. If our small school can do that, imagine how much a larger school can raise!
While I had heard whispers about the Box Tops 4 Education program when my girls were little, it became something they were very excited about when they started school. They attend a small private school with no public funding, so the money the Box Tops 4 Education program brings in can make a huge impact on the school. The school’s teachers and staff have organized different ways to motivate the kids to collect the Box Tops–from friendly competition among the classes to rewarding the kids who collect the most box tops with prizes.
While my kids’ school provides print-outs, where the children can tape or glue the box tops, you can also print them out directly from the Box Tops 4 Education website here.
My girls are so excited about collecting the box tops that they have even recruited their grandparents and babysitters to collect them for them as well!
On a recent trip to Sam’s Club with my husband, the girls specifically requested that he purchase items that sported the box tops. Even though school is still a few weeks away, they are already thinking about getting a head start on collecting them for the new school year.
How does the Box Tops 4 Education program work?
There really is no easier way to raise money for your child’s school. There are box tops on various products that you might already purchase on a regular basis. These range from Cheerios to Nature Valley Protein Bars to Mott’s Fruit Snacks.
For every box top your child collects and turns into his school, the school will earn $.10! If the school collects 10,000 box tops (not hard in a large school!), that is an easy $1,000 for your child’s school!
I also recently learned that you can earn extra box tops with the Box Tops 4 Education bonus app. You simply have to scan your receipt in order to get the bonus points. I downloaded the app tonight, and I am sure my girls will be excited to being earning extra points for their school.
