I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I am not crafty.
I wasn’t even crafty as a kid.
But my girls–especially my 6-year-old firstborn–are.
So what’s a non-crafty mom like me to do with her craft enthused girls?
Green Kid Crafts to the rescue!
When Green Kid first contacted me, I hesitated to agree to try their craft boxes because, well, you know. Crafts just aren’t me.
But oh.my.goodness. The craft box they sent me was a life-saver.
My girls could not wait to get their hands on it, and it totally took the pressure off of me–Mrs. Non-Crafty Mom extraordinaire.
I didn’t have to scroll through my Pinterest feed to come up with a craft idea. I didn’t have to go shopping for supplies. I simply had to open up the box.
Each Green Kid Crafts box comes with hands-on, award winning, and eco-friendly kits for kids. Green Kid offers Discovery Boxes, Creativity Kits, and STEM Science Kits (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
The boxes are ideal for children ages 3-10.
The box my girls’ received came with everything they needed to make slime monsters (which they LOVED), a fizzing lava lamp and magnet friends.
They absolutely, positively loved it, and we can’t wait to try another box!
Boxes are sold individually or as a subscription service (which we are thinking about getting our girls for Christmas this year!). You can also purchase kits for birthday parties, etc.!
How are Green Kid Crafts green?
Their boxes are 100% recycled, and they use recycled labels and envelopes for shipping.
They integrate eco-awareness into their craft themes as much as possible.
They minimize packaging and printing and use recycled materials
wherever they can.
They bundle materials using plant-based, compostable clear bags.
They avoid craft foams and plastics.
They ensure craft supplies can be composted, recycled and/or reused
And they give back. A minimum if 1% of sales is donated to environmental
As a non-crafty mom, I really appreciated the ease of having everything laid out for me. And my girls were simply thrilled.
Are you a crafty or a non-crafty mom? What helps you come up with craft ideas for your kids?
