Today I’m introducing you to my absolute favorite baby carrier–the Boba Classic! You can get the Boba–as well as a variety of other natural parenting and cloth diapering products–at Sweet Little Blessings or on Amazon.
The Boba is what made me fall in love with baby carrying. With my first, I didn’t really baby carry at all (except in my arms).
I owned two baby carriers back then–a Snuggli and an Infantino sling. I could never figure out how to put the Snuggli on properly or get her in without upsetting us both. Thankfully, we only made it through the Infantino one time because it later got recalled!
But with my second, I discovered the Boba. I had several friends recommend both the Boba and the Ergo, but one friend who owned both told me she much preferred the Boba. I tried hers on and couldn’t believe how easy peasy it was to get it on and off!
It was exactly what this often-clumsy-oh-so-humbled homemaker needed to go from baby wearing failure to baby wearing success!
The benefits of babywearing are many, including:
- helps mother and baby bond,
- relaxes/calms baby,
- helps you give baby your full attention,
- helps baby learn about the world,
- helps baby learn balance,
- helps reassure baby that mother is there,
- frees mother’s hands for cooking, cleaning and tending to other children,
- helps mothers to read baby’s cues,
- can help facilitate breastfeeding,
- and more! (source)
I have worn my babies in the Boba:
- while cleaning,
- while cooking,
- while tending the garden,
- while picking blueberries,
- while at church (we are avoiding the nursery until at least the spring!),
- while at MOPS meetings,
- while grocery shopping (leaves SO much more room in the cart for food!),
- while on family outings–such as to the zoo,
- and during many other occasions!
The Boba has enabled me to do all of this with my 2nd and 3rd babies (and I so regret that I did not have it with my first!). You can carry your baby in a Boba once he or she is able to hold his or her own head up–at around 3-4 months. (I used a Moby Wrap on Baby Girl during the newborn stage.)
As my babies grow, I love being able to still keep them close. I sense that it comforts them as well.
The Boba can fit up to 35 pounds, so I could actually still carry my 4 1/2 year old and especially my 2 year old in it! Husbands can also wear Bobas!
I especially love how comfortable the Boba is. I do have a ring sling, but it does not distribute the baby’s weight evenly as the Boba does!
Before I started babywearing, it was so intimidating to me. For that reason, I’ve made a vlog to show you just how easy it is to get the Boba on and off. Seriously–if I can do it then anyone can!
If I could only buy ONE baby carrier, it would be the Boba. It is seriously worth every penny even when not on sale–and I do not say that about many things! I love, love, love it!!

When I saw that one of our sponsors, Sweet Little Blessings, had recently started carrying the Boba, I jumped at the chance to ask if they would consider giving a discount to their store when I ran this post…and they said yes!
Do you wear your babies? What’s your favorite baby carrier?
