I honestly didn’t give much thought to the ingredients of my skincare products until I became a mom. Before then, it never occurred to me that the skincare products I used every single day could be leeching toxins into my body.
But, as the song goes…a baby changes everything. And when my first sweet newborn was born, I suddenly realized that I needed to start checking every label to ensure that I was protecting her little skin and body as a whole.
A few months back, I introduced you to Jenuinely Pure. I had just discovered them back then, and I’m so glad that I did! I still use and absolutely love their face wash. (I just acquired an entire year’s worth!)
Jenuinely Pure offers all natural, handmade products and boasts zero toxins! That’s a huge plus in my book!
Their baby care line includes:
This baby cream threw me for a loop at first because it is white. White baby cream that looked similar to Desitin and other zinc-oxide based creams throw up a red flag for me since I use cloth diapers, and I try to stick to creams that are cloth-diaper safe.
I was thoroughly impressed when I dipped my fingers into the jar, though! Although the cream is white, the consistency is not like Desitin at all! And the ingredients are not at all similar. This cream contains: shea butter, mango seed butter, cocoa seed butter, several natural oils and vitamin E. It reminded me of the same texture as Noxema face cream (but, again, it’s totally different!). I actually did brave the waters and tried this cream on my baby’s diaper area. Although I would never overuse any cream while using cloth diapers, I felt like this cream was cloth-safe! It rubbed in very well and did not create a barrier on my diapers (which zinc-oxide-based creams can do!).
Jenuinely Pure’s baby oil is just as natural as the cream. It is a good alternative to the cream if you prefer more of an oil base. It’s a great alternative to conventional baby oils, and it would make a nice cloth wipes solution when mixed with water!
I used this wash to clean both my baby’s skin and hair. The smell of lavender from essential oils was gentle but not overwhelming. It is always comforting to know you are putting non-toxic on your baby!
I love soap nuts! I had actually tried them once before this. They are cloth diaper safe and just about as non-toxic as you can get! They are completely natural!
Soap nuts are berries that grow on trees in India & Nepal. They contain large quantities of saponin in their shells, which acts as a natural, gentle detergent when it comes into contact with water.
Jenuinely Pure’s soap nuts are also organic!
