I’m always excited when I learn about new places where I can shop without leaving my home! Now I’ve also found a venue that will allow me to donate clothes without drive all over town as well!
If you’ve followed this site for very long, you know that I don’t like to shop. Any time I can purchase items for my family from the comfort of my own couch, I am over-the-moon excited.
I recently found an online venue that not only allows me to shop from home for clothes for my kids, but it also enables me to donate clothing and shoes–without leaving my house!
Enter: Schoola.
When I read that Schoola will actually send you a self-addressed, postage-paid bag to collect donations in, I was sold.
I ordered the bag (did I mention that it’s FREE?!), and I filled it with donations I had gathered from around my home after getting super motivated to declutter while reading to The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up this fall.
You can watch a Periscope replay of me explaining how I prefer to get rid of clothes below (or click here).
It could not have been easier to fill the bag, seal it up, and stuff it into my mailbox.
When Schoola receives your bag in the mail, they sell them on their site for a deeply discounted rate compared to retail value–up to 70% off!
Even though you cannot make money personally–which I wouldn’t anyway for things I would be donating–the school of your choice will make 40% of the profits when the items you donate sell!
I was excited to choose my little girl’s school since it’s small and still growing.
It’s not always easy for me to volunteer at her school, and being able to get rid of a huge bag of clothes and see a big chunk of the proceeds from the sale of those clothes go to my daughter’s school made me one happy mama!
After having such a great experience with the donation component of Schoola, I had the opportunity to try the site from the customer end as well.
Since I buy almost all of my children’s clothes via consignment sales and stores anyway, I was thrilled at the chance to try an online store that sells secondhand clothing.
I’ve included some pics of the clothes we got for my girls in our first order.
They were excited to get the big Schoola bag in the mail, and I was thrilled that I was able to get some much-needed shopping done for them without leaving my couch!
Even though I’ve really loved buying my girls’ clothes via a few local consignment sales the past six years, I’ve learned that my oldest is now aging out, as the clothes consigned for school-age children are normally few and far between, and our town’s one consignment store is now only carrying up to size 6.
Schoola, in contrast, carries up to junior sizes, so you can shop secondhand even for teenagers! As well, Schoola carries clothing for women!
And not all of Schoola’s clothing are secondhand. They actually get in a good number of new-with-tags items, and my 7-year-old was thrilled to get some brand new Gymboree clothing!!
Right now, Schoola is running a phenomenal sale for Christmas break! Use code BREAK to get 30% off any purchase of $30 or more! Sale end 12/22/15. As well, for a limited time, you can get free shipping with no minimum! Shop here. (Please note, codes are not valid on new-with-tags items and can’t be combined.)

Have you ever donated clothes before? Do you shop online? Would you be happy to donate and shop for clothes from your couch?!
Thank you, Schoola, for underwriting this post.
