Check out these 5 reasons why you should consider shopping at Sam’s Club!
While my husband and I shopped at Sam’s Club regularly when we were newlyweds, we’ve, sadly, been living in a town without one for many years now.
Until recently.
Several months ago, a new Sam’s Club opened in our area. Even though I had not signed up for a membership yet, a tire on my mini van just so happened to go flat right in front of the store back in the spring.
Thankfully, the employees at my local Sam’s Club were kind and extremely generous in letting me get my tire repaired there. Instead of sitting in the waiting area during the repair, I decided to explore the store a little and see how it had changed in the six years since we had frequented the warehouse club franchise.
To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I was especially delighted to find that Sam’s Club had improved their selection of more natural-friendly products, which have become so important to me since becoming a mom!
I was excited to give the store a more thorough tour, so I could share my experience with you all!
Here are 5 Reasons Why Natural Mamas should considering shopping at Sam’s Club:
1. When you join, you can start saving immediately.
When you join online using this link, you actually get $80 in Instant Savings on baby items like diapers, wipes, etc.!
2. Sam’s Club offers everyday savings by buying items in bulk.
For example, if you use disposable diapers, you can purchase a larger pack at Sam’s Club. The pack might cost you more money, but you will be paying less money per diaper than you would when buying a smaller pack of diapers at the grocery store.
3. Sam’s Club carries favorite brands AND high quality private brands at an equal quality for a lower price.
When I was in college, my roommates teased me about staying loyal to store brands. But I stood by–and still stand by–the fact that many store brands are equal or superior in quality to name-brand items.
By purchasing products under the Sam’s Club Member’s Mark brand, you will save money from the get-go.
But if name brands are your thing, Sam’s Club still carries popular baby brands like Huggies, Diaper Genie, Desitin Diaper Rash Cream, and many more.
4. You can buy online!
I love shopping from my couch!
Sam’s Club members can easily shop via SamsClub.com. This allows moms to spend more time with their babies and families–and at home!
The subscription service lets you set shipping intervals on many items you use most when you need them so you don’t have to worry about running out. They also offer free standard shipping on most diapers and wipes!
5. Club pick-up is a timesaver.
Sam’s Club lets you shorten your shopping trip by saving shopping lists online for repeat purchases.
You can then complete your order online and receive a text when your order is ready to be picked up at the store! Easy peasy! Get details at samsclub.com/pickup.
Build a New Natural Mama Survival Kid at Sam’s Club
Sam’s Club asked me to create a list of my top picks for a new mama survival kit, using items you can purchase at Sam’s. I wanted to go a step further and create a kit for mamas who desire to create a more natural lifestyle for their babies and families.
So my new natural mama survival kit would include:
Huggies Natural Care Diapers: Although I am a huge advocate for using cloth diapers, sometimes mama just needs to take a break and pull out the sposies! It’s great that Sam’s Club offers a more natural disposable diaper for times like this!
Virgin Organic Coconut Oil: From a natural alternative to nipple cream to a perfect salve for diaper rashes, coconut oil is a must-have for natural mamas to keep on hand!
Organic Almond Butter: New mamas are rebuilding their bodies after nine months of growing a baby, going through birth, and, for many, breastfeeding! A spoonful of almond butter gives new mamas great protein, and you can also use some in my recipe for homemade lactation cookies!
Organic Chia Strawberry Banana Fruit Pouches: As your baby starts to turn into a toddler, these are a great alternative to regular baby food.
Honest Kids Juice: We don’t drink a lot of juice in our home, but it’s always nice to have a good organic option like Honest Kids!

We have a Sam’s Club membership but hardly use it because it is clear across town. I didn’t know they shipped stuff to you for free though! That is a game changer. Also, I didn’t know that they had club pick up. Thanks for all the tips! And the great list of natural choices to get from Sam’s.

Chelsey, I LOVE when I don’t have to go shopping in a store! LOL

I prefer Costco. Costco treats their employees so well that they stand out amongst retailers. Sams Club is owned by Wal Mart. I will not support Wal Mart. When I look at the amount of money that I spend at Costco every month, I am grateful that I am supporting a business where they treat their employees with dignity, respect and fair wages.

Interesting…I’ve heard great things but we do not have one, so I’ve never had the opportunity to try it.

Also, products do NOT come “drenched” in chemicals!!!!!!!!! 🙂 I literally cannot use tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. from many other stores without getting sick (from my Toxic Injury), because they come “scented” with other products’ chemical scents, “air fresheners,” etc. I think the big, open structure of Sam’s helps with this? Plus Sam’s keeping things in original boxes (containing scent better), and they do not spray scent out into the store. We are SOOOO grateful for Sam’s. The only other store that comes close in “no scents picked up by paper products” that I know of is Target. Our new Wal Mart is better than it used to be, though.

Good to know!

I used to buy organic spinach there. I don’t think I’ve seen it much lately though. They also have a lot of good yogurts at my Sam’s. The thing to know about Sam’s is that the products they carry vary depending on the region you are in.
Erin
That’s good to know, Keelie! I had no idea it varied by region!

I love Sam’s Club! My favorite products: love that they now sell the Virgin Coconut oil and a huge savings compared to how much you spend at the grocery store. My favorite cereal, Cascadian Farms Oats and Honey granola cereal. Great for breakfast or yogurt parfaits- It comes in a box that is equal to 3 boxes from the grocery store and I actually am getting one box free when I look at the price difference. Go Go Squeez organic applesauce- perfect for the kids when we are in the car for a snack. Comes in a box of 16. Also always buy toilet paper and paper towels and coffee there. Always a big savings compared to the grocery store!
Erin
Thanks so much for sharing about your favorite products! I got the coconut oil and we are loving it!

I’ve never tried buying from Sam’s Club but if I can save some money, why not?
Erin
That’s my thoughts, exactly!
