You will want to make this pumpkin cream smoothie every day! It’s even gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free! Delicious!
Have I ever told y’all that I absolutely love pumpkin?
Seriously: I don’t care what it is–pumpkin makes it better. Pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin breakfast bars, pumpkin donut holes, pumpkin dip…I could go on and on about my love for this delightful fall food!
I’ve recently been on a pumpkin smoothie kick. And I kicked it up a notch a few weeks ago by adding some cream to it–making it a pumpkin cream smoothie.
I think I should stop drooling over the keyboard and go make another one right now. But wait: I’ve already had two today! (No lie!)
This pumpkin cream smoothie is perfect for breakfast or for a heavy snack (it will fill you up!). It’s gluten, dairy and refined sugar free. My 1-year-old absolutely loves it in her sippy cup!
The coconut cream in this recipe will beef up the healthy fat content, and the optional molasses will help boost those iron levels.
Have you ever had a pumpkin pie blast at Dairy Queen? It’s been years, but I remember how I just loved those things (I would probably cheat and get one now except that I’m dairy free!)
This smoothie is not the next best thing to Dairy Queen. I actually think it’s much, much better (and healthier, of course!).
Without further ado, here’s the recipe for a filling, delicious pumpkin cream smoothie!

Notes
I make most of my smoothies in the single serve cup of my Ninja Pro.
*Note: I am honestly not too sure how I feel about protein powders. They just don’t seem like “real food” to me. When I do use protein powder, I choose this dairy-free one from Amazon. The ingredients are minimal, are non-GMO and it looks less processed than some of the other ones I’ve seen advertised. You can also get coconut cream from Amazon.

Erin
Oh I am so glad to hear that, Phelan! I hope you love it! I had gestational diabetes with my 2nd baby! Congrats on the pregnancy!
Tanya
RE: Gestational diabetes….are you avoiding grains? That worked best for me and the fruit etc weren’t a problem then.
Tanya
Should have been ‘were’ not ‘are’!
Alix
Yum!! I LOVE pumpkin as well. If I had coconut cream, I’d go make this now.

I adore pumpkin in my smoothies this time of year. I can’t wait to make this tomorrow morning-SUPER YUM!

You could use Great Lakes gelatin (will not be vegan) in the green container in place of the rice powder. adds protein w/o the gunk.
Marty
Sounds wonderful. Want to make it for a friend who has cancer and is not eating sugar or milk. Do you think it would work not using the ice cubes and not consuming it immediately?
Kathy
I really wanted to copy, paste and share this recipe to my healthy Facebook page, and as always credit the source, but I’m not able to copy and paste at all. That makes it difficult to save, try and share the recipe. It sounds delicious. Is there a reason I can’t take advantage of modern tech copy and paste?

I have coconut butter. Is that the same thing as coconut cream?
Bonnie
My son loves pumpkin and smoothies so I think I’ll surprise him with this for an after-school snack. I don’t have almond milk though, so I’m hoping coconut milk will work out all-right.
Sarah
This.. this can count as dinner, right?
Anna
I am not a big believer in protein powders and I actually need to watch calories. This morning I actually just threw together a pumpkin smoothie with only ice, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a few big tablespoons of pumpkin, honey and pumpkin pie spice. It was seriously delicious! I like the idea of the coconut..and contemplated a half of a banana. I love when I can get a pumpkin fix!
Jean Lynd
Thanks! I’m gonna try this out tomorrow, except with unsweetened vanilla coconut milk for the almond milk.

I do not see where it says the nutrition list- Carbs? Calories??

My 7 year old son loves pumpkin. Most recipes or restaurants like Culver’s are too sweet for his liking. He has a low % of body fat and has gotten tired of the protein shakes. I will try this recipe to liven up his diet! Thanks.

I’m definitely going to need to get some stuff for this recipe. I have soooo much processed pumkin in my freezer just waiting for me to come up with creative things to do with it!
Erin
Oh I hope you love it!

Is this THM compliant and what type of meal would it be?
